چکیده

Abstract Joule-heating reactors have the higher energy efficiency and product selectivity compared with based on radiative heating. Current are constructed electrically-conductive metals or carbon materials, therefore suffer from stability issue due to presence of corrosive oxidizing gases during high-temperature reactions. In this study, chemically-stable (La 0.80 Sr 0.20 ) 0.95 FeO 3 (LSF)/Gd 0.1 Ce 0.9 O 2 (GDC) ceramics been used construct for first time. Taking advantage resistance decrease ceramic temperature increase, heated under current control mode achieved automatic adjustment heating stabilize reactor temperatures. addition, electrical LSF/GDC can be tuned by content high-conductive LSF in composite density via sintering temperature, which offers flexibility The dendritic channels (less than 100 urn diameter) showed catalytic activity CO oxidation, was further improved coating efficient MnO nanocatalyst channel wall. complete oxidation at a low 165 °C. Therefore, robust successfully demonstrated effective Joule potentially applied other

Surface Structure and Catalytic CO Oxidation Oscillations

A cellular automaton model is used to describe the dynamics of the catalytic oxidation of CO on a Pt(100) surface. The cellular automaton rules account for the structural phase transformations of the Pt substrate, the reaction kinetics of the adsorbed phase and diffusion of adsorbed species. The model is used to explore the spatial structure that underlies the global oscillations observed in so...

Joule heating in single-walled carbon nanotubes

Joule heating in single-walled carbon nanotubes CNTs using a quantum mechanical approach is presented in this paper. The modeling is based on the energy transfer between the electrons and both acoustic and optical phonons. In this formulation, only the knowledge of the full energy dispersion relation, phonon dispersion relation, and the electron-phonon coupling potential is required for the cal...

Joule Heating Effects on Insulator-based Dielectrophoresis

ABSTRACT We present an experimental and numerical study of Joule heating in a polymeric insulator-based dielectrophoresis (iDEP) device. In this study, we used a microscale thermometry technique based upon the temperature-sensitive fluorescence of Rhodamine B dye to monitor the fluid temperature within our iDEP microfluidic devices. We then complemented our experiments with 3D finite element si...
